Three gradient tones of Cheeky Merino Joy meet like small stones in a calm mosaic. Worked flat from narrow end to narrow end, garter sections alternate with simple mosaic from slipped stitches. Finished loop measures 154 cm around and 41 cm wide.
Start with a provisional cast-on, keep one colour per row, then join the ends with Kitchener stitch for garter. The Distitch selvedge by Assia Brill keeps both long edges neat without curling, so the loop drapes twice around the neck.
Calculated for Cheeky Merino Joy, cosy wool in 100% merino with around 320 m per 100 g. Plan three skeins of 87 g each in colours A, B and C. Use 4 mm circular needle plus a spare for grafting. The hand feels soft and full, stitches slide calmly and colours blend quietly.
